Changing Tides
Today’s observations are not from a movie, but a scene in my own life… One of my favourite things to do is watch the waves crash onto the shore at the beach. This morning my attention was drawn to the after effects of the crash, with the water pulling back in al its might, firmly in the clutches of the gravitational pull of the moon.
My thoughts wandered to all the planetary activity we’re experiencing at present through a series of eclipses. When I got home, I looked up ‘eclipse’ in the dictionary, “The total or partial obscuration of the light from a heavenly body by the passage of another body between it and the source of its light.” Interesting!
I have witnessed around me and experienced within myself of late, deep stirrings and surfacing of feelings that feel ancient, in the distant past and no longer relevant. Yet, there they are! For what purpose, you might ask?
My sense is that we are being asked to look deep within during this period of disruption, to identify and release all the old baggage, all the old default mechanisms and knee-jerk reactions to life and all its people, making way for more light to enter our space beyond the eclipse. I believe we are being asked to let more light in and by releasing the old we make way for the new, preparing for a new life, a new lightness and a new way of being within ourselves and with each other.
In spite of how challenging it is to face past hurts, disappointments and loss, it is time to shine and see in others our true colours…
“I see your true colours shining through
I see your true colours and that’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them shine
Your true colours, true colours
Are beautiful like a rainbow.”
